Philanthropy Leaders can act as fiscal sponsors for community initiatives that are not organized under 501(c)(3) groups. This allows them to accept tax-deductible contributions and government and foundation grants. We offer this service with minimal fees to groups that don’t also need elaborate bookkeeping.
Philanthropy Leaders is currently the fiscal sponsor for the Pan-African Community Development Initiative’s mutual aid network, Wanllan Mi Wanlle (“Help Me, I Help You” in Fulani).
Over the last several years, we were the intermediary for the Escuela Zantli in Nicaragua for a grant from the Novo Foundation, for the Windsor Terrace Food Coop for a grant from New York State provided by Assemblyperson Robert Carroll, and for an individual fundraising effort for the East 4th Street Community Garden in Brooklyn to diversify its open-air performances.
